Cosmetology II
In Cosmetology II, students will demonstrate proficiency in academic, technical, and practical knowledge and skills. The content is designed to provide the occupational skills required for licensure. Instruction includes advanced training in professional standards/employability skills; Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) rules and regulations; use of tools, equipment, technologies, and materials; and practical skills.
This binder does not contain all lesson plans for this course. This content can be used with any textbook or instructional materials. If locally adapted, make sure all TEKS are covered.

Scope and Sequence

CTE TEKS - Implemented 2017-2018, adopted in 2015
Cosmetology II course scope and sequence within the Human Services Career Cluster® summarizes the content to be taught, and one possible order for teaching the units of instruction. A brief description of each unit and the corresponding TEKS are included. This scope and sequence may be adapted or adopted by the local education agency.

In this lesson, students will analyze hair chemicals, and determine which straighteners are appropriate for each hair type. Students will then straighten the hair of a manikin or real-life subject.
